Penn Highlands Connellsville To Host Free Smokestack Lighting Event

The community is invited to join representatives from Penn Highlands Connellsville as they permanently light the hospital’s historic smokestack on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the hospital located at 401 East Murphy Avenue in Connellsville.

“The illuminated smokestack will serve as a beacon of hope and healing as it sits atop the hill for the entire region to see,” said Peter J. Adamo, Penn Highlands Healthcare Regional Market President – Southwestern Region who also serves as President of Penn Highlands Connellsville. “The light is a symbol that our doors are always open to provide care to our community and a beacon of hope for all of Connellsville as we work together to make our town a great place to live and work.”

Families are encouraged to attend the festivities which will include information tables about the services provided at Penn Highlands Connellsville, community vendors and food trucks.

The lighting was made possible through a grant from Greensburg-based Scott Electric, which is one of the largest independent electrical distributors in the United States.
